Children's and Youth Formation

Registration is now open (see below)
Classes begin Sunday, September 11

At St. Mary's, we believe that children and youth need to be full members in the life of the church, enjoying worship, fellowship, and formation in equal measures. That's why we schedule our programs of Christian formation between our Sunday services, allowing families both to worship and to learn together. This year, our Sunday morning offerings for children and youth include:

Godly Play (pre-K through Grade 4)
Sundays, 9:15-10:15 am

Godly Play is designed to give children a Montesorri-style creative learning experience. Children will have the opportunity to play with the stories of the Bible with the guidance of two adults and other children. This experience is designed specifically to create a playful and engaging atmosphere for children that will foster a lifelong relationship with God and the Bible through the hearing and telling of stories.

Youth Classes (Grades 5-12)
Sundays, 9:15-10:15 am, and periodic special events

This year we will follow the “Echo the Story” curriculum, engaging more deeply with the stories in the Bible through group discussion facilitated by two adult leaders. We will also host periodic special events, such as kayaking trips, movie nights, and more.

Parent participation

We believe that parent participation is essential to the success of our ministry to children and youth. Please check any areas where you are able and willing to assist:

Dropoff and pickup

Children through 5th grade must be dropped off and picked up at their classrooms by a parent or other responsible adult.

Staying on campus

A parent or other responsible adult must remain on church property while your child is in class.

Classes, worship services, and other public events may be photographed and these photographs may be used by the church in print or online. If you DO NOT WANT your child's photo to appear in print or online, please indicate that below.

Please note that children will not be named or personally identified unless additional, case-by-case permission is sought and received.

Please also note that we will remove any photograph from our printed or electronic materials upon request by the individual or another responsible party.
