Adult Bible Study

Sunday mornings from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m., following the 9:00 a.m. Service, in St. George's Chapel

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

                                                                                                                   Exodus 20:2

The journey that Israel walked is an image of the journey that every person makes when he or she sets out to follow God’s movement in their life.

Exodus begins where Genesis leaves off. Chapters 1-19 take the story line from security in the land of Egypt through enslavement, deliverance, escape into a desolate wilderness to a meeting with God at Mount Sinai. The second half of the book-chapters 20-40, dwell at length on two key activities that take place at the holy mountain. The first is the making of a covenant between God and the people, and the second is the description of the key elements of divine worship. There is so much to learn and discover about the ever-present and abiding presence of God…in the Exodus story and in our own.

Bring your own bible –if you have one. If not, we have an abundance to share.

Karen Laroche will lead us in study, reflection and discussion.
